Kove, a rising Chinese motorcycle brand, is set to expand its presence in the US market with its latest model, the 800X. Following a successful launch of the 450 Rally, Kove is bringing the 800X in three variants: Standard, Pro, and Rally, according to recent NHTSA filings.

Engine and Performance

All three 800X versions feature a 799cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 95 hp at 9,000 rpm and 59 lb-ft of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is strikingly similar to KTM’s LC8c parallel twin, with identical bore and stroke measurements, but Kove claims a higher compression ratio of 13:1. This engine also uses a unique 285-degree crankshaft, mimicking the firing pattern of a V-twin.

Shared Design and Components

The 800X models share the same chassis design, with a "diamond" frame and wire-spoked wheels—21-inch at the front and 18-inch at the rear. Suspension comes from KYB, with adjustable preload on the Standard model, and additional compression and rebound damping on the Pro and Rally versions.

800X Standard: This base model features a wheelbase of 59.1 inches, a seat height of 33.3 inches, and ground clearance of 9.6 inches.
800X Pro: Enhanced for better off-road capability, the Pro has a slightly longer wheelbase of 59.4 inches, a seat height of 34.5 inches, and ground clearance of 10.8 inches. It weighs 408 pounds.
800X Rally: The top-tier Rally model offers even more suspension travel, with 10.6 inches at the front and 9.8 inches at the rear, and a ground clearance of 11.5 inches.
