McLaren, known for their supercars and Formula 1 success, has entered the electric mountain bike (eMTB) market. They introduced the Extreme 600 for $11,950 and Sport 600 for $8,950, claiming these as the most powerful street-legal e-bikes with up to 852W of peak power. These models will start shipping in mid-August.

Key Features


Models and Power: The lineup includes four models: Extreme 600, Extreme 250, Sport 600, and Sport 250. "Extreme" denotes the full-suspension version, while "Sport" refers to the hardtail. The number indicates the nominal motor power.
Frame and Suspension: The Extreme model features a 29” front wheel, 27.5” rear wheel, 145mm of rear travel, and a 160mm fork travel. The Sport model has a 29” hardtail frame.
Integrated Technology: A standout feature is the one-piece handlebar with an integrated display and front light, displaying telemetry information like speed, battery life, and range on a full-color LCD panel.

The Extreme model utilizes a Horst-link suspension design, a removable battery, SRAM Transmission gearing, and RockShox Lyrik fork with Deluxe shock. These components emphasize McLaren’s commitment to quality and performance.
